Civil Litigation - Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs)

Whether you want to file a TRO (i.e., an injunction against harassment), or defend against one, you will benefit most with a trial attorney like me that understands all of the laws that control, and the evidentiary burden and rules of evidence that apply.

Mediation Services

In addition to being a lawyer, I am also a trained mediator.

Sometimes, a dispute between an employer & employee, family members, neighbors, and the like, can benefit from a third-party neutral. As an experienced mediator, I can facilitate conversations, and cut through tension, that could not otherwise occur outside of a courtroom.

"I'll sue you" is not always the answer, and for many, win or lose, it'll be the more costly option.

I provide a high-caliber defense, and aggressive offense, to state and federal crimes ranging from murder, hit-and-run type cases (e.g., negligent homicide), firearms related offenses, sexual assault, assault, robbery, theft, drug distribution and possession, and many others.

Moreover, even if I was not the initial attorney on a matter, I routinely help families who are trying to overturn the conviction of a loved one on appeal, or secure their freedom through the parole process.

Having built these types of cases from the ground up as a prosecutor, and being further trained in related areas by the U.S. Secret Service, I can offer you an unparalleled defense to these non-violent, but equally serious and complex types of cases.

Government & Institution Investigations

Having a government agency (like the State of Hawaii's Department of Education) or an institution (like the University of Hawaii) open an investigation into you can be both nerve-wracking, and potentially career ending. Knowing how to neutralize these efforts against you is, frankly, something I do best.*

*This applies to criminal investigations (e.g., a sexual assault inquiry by local police) & employer investigations (e.g., if you've been accused of stealing money from your company) as well.

Civil Litigation - Courtroom Trial Practice

If trial is inevitable, I'd be eager to work with existing counsel to supplement and compliment your trial team in putting your most persuasive case before a jury.

I know how to run a trial from start to finish. Equally as important, I know how to tactfully undermine the efforts of the opposing side, without irritating a jury. If you're going to pay for more than one attorney to sit with you at trial, consider making me one of them.
